Auntie Bee

Just remembering her. It was one year ago today that she passed away, she was a believer so I know she is in Heaven. I have been thinking of her lately. For those of you who don’t know I was a caregiver to her for almost two years. I got to know her quite well and got to hear many stories from her growing up and adult years. She is my Grandma’s sister and came to live here from Seattle when she needed some assistance. She never married or had children so spent her free time traveling the world with tour groups. She went many places but her favorites were Sweden and Norway. (If I remember correctly). She had a witty humor about her; one story I remember quite well was one time when my Grandma could not find her wallet. She was shopping with my mom so they called to see if we could find it. After much searching we found the wallet under some magazines on Bee’s ottoman, Bea responded with a quick, “darn and I thought I could get away with it.”

Ella got to spend a lot of time with her as well and loved to sit on her lap or on the couch by her. Bee had a dog that she made years before that Ella loved to play with and Auntie Bee would enjoy watching her play with it. She also loved to call for Bee to come to the kitchen when it was time for a meal or her pills. I used to let Ella crawl up the stairs (I would hide so Bee did not see me) and she would crawl into the living room, Bea would say well hello cutie where did you come from? Thinking she just showed up there on her own. It was cute. Bee often forgot my name but she seemed to always remember Ella’s. I thought Ella had forgotten about her since she was so young when she died but a couple of months ago we were at my grandma’s (where Auntie Bee lived her last few years of life) and she saw Auntie Bee’s magnifying glass, picked it up and said this is Auntie Bee’s. This surprised Grandma and me because we were not even talking about her. Just the other day she said she wanted to go to Auntie Bee’s house and also later said she wanted to go to Heaven to see her. It is amazing to me that Ella still remembers her. Here is a picture of Ella and Bee when Ella was about 5 weeks old.

We miss you Aunite Bee, but know you are in a better place now!

Outing with Grandma Ruby

So Ella, Roc and I took Grandma Ruby on an adventure to feed the elk today. It is nice because it is only about a 15 minute drive (and could be a pleasant one yet Roc prefers to scream the whole way:)). We got there and since it was a week day it was not too crowded. We watched outside for a while, but it was a bit cold so we went into the visitor center and discovered that they have some large windows with chairs so you can watch them feeding them very close up. In fact one large Elk was tapping his antlers on the window. Ella wanted to pick up the baby one and then later wanted to know if she could ride on them. We all had a great time and I really want to sign up to ride the truck out into the field where they feed them, however I think we will need to leave Roc home for that one as the lady at the center said it is pretty cold on the truck and the info sheet said the truck is loud. Here's a few pictures of our exciting afternoon.

7 Months Old

Roc had his six month check-up today. Here are the stats:
Height 28 in. 90th Percentile
Weight 17 lbs 50th Percentile
Head Circumference 17.25 in 50-75th Percentile.

The doctor also discovered he had an ear infection. He has not been acting unusually fussy, but has had less interest in nursing lately, so this could be the reason? We will go back in two days to see if it has cleared up, if not the Doctor will put him on an antibiotic. Otherwise he was given a clean bill of health and is developing normally. He had to have three shots but did ok with them. Now he is sleeping soundly. We scheduled his nine month appointment when he is nine months, so then we will be back on right schedule. I want this so that his stats won't be a month off and then we can truly know where he is on the charts!

Grandma Ruby's Birthday

My Grandma had a birthday on Friday, so I had Ella bring her some flowers. Grandma thought they were beautiful and Ella had fun doing this. I am glad that Ella gets to spend so much time with her Grandma Ruby. Happy Birthday Grandma, we love you!

Roc Man

R-Right. This little boy is just right for us and fits into our family perfectly!

O-Overly Adorable. Roc is so cute and gets cuter by the day. He loves to laugh and often it does not take much to make him laugh.

C-Cuddly. Loves to be cuddled (mostly when tired) and snuggled. He is growing out of this some now that he is more mobile, so I cherish the times when he is.

He is becoming more active now and is scooting on the floor and is making attempts to crawl, He will get there soon I am sure. He also love to jump in is jonnie jump-up and play in his bouncy seat. He is not one to sit still too much, especially when I am trying to change his diaper or clothes. He loves Ella and is very entertained by her.

Roc is so precious to us and we love him so much. Thank you God for blessing us with this perfect little boy!

Ella Girl

E-Expressive. She is very excited about everything about life and speaks with such expression, emphasis, and excitement in her voice.

L-Lovable. Loves hugs and kisses (especially Eskimo and butterfly ones) Loves Baby Roc. Often she says “I loooove him so much!”

L-Laughter. Ella does so many things throughout the day that make us laugh.

A-Active. She is very energetic and loves to run rather than walk. She is always on the go.

Last night we were eating pizza for dinner. Kevin asked Ella what she wanted to drink. She said “water, warm water please.” Hmm ok… so Kevin gave it to her and she drank it all. Then she used her second glass to dip her pizza in. She ate it too. I asked her why she was dipping her pizza in the water before she ate it and she said, “Because I like it that way.”

Last night my mom brought some Valentine’s Gifts over. Ella’s favorite is a roll-on glitter perfume. She put it on continuously last night and today. She wanted to put some on Roc and I told her perfume was for girls, so she said just a little bit then? Ok I guess I said, so he is wearing some on his cheek!

I love this little girl so much and am so thankful to God that He has blessed us with her!

Valentines Balloon

Fred Meyer has some cute shiny heart balloons. They come in purple, pink or red. They are only $1.25 so I figured why not. We went there today and I let Ella choose the color. She choose purple (my choice too of course!). We tied it to the cart but somehow it got loose and ended up at the ceiling. Since I could not reach it, we got another one. This time she choose pink. We successfully made it home with this one. Last year my mom and Hannah got her this same balloon (in purple). So I have now decided to make this a tradition for her, provided they keep carrying these each year. Here are some pictures, from last year and this year.

Rocking Roc and Sick Ella

So Ella woke up last night and threw up, she threw up a few times today as well, but seems to be on the mend now, I hope. Hopefully the rest of us will not get sick! So we stayed home today and I tried over and over to get a video of Roc on all fours, and finally succeeded! Here he is.

I also had Ella work on a project. A Mellisa and Doug heart box she got from my parents for Christmas. It was one that you paint and decorate. She had fun, despite feeling sick.

My Baby...

is growing up. Ok so I posted last week that Roc got his first tooth, the very next day he got a second tooth, the left bottom center one (if that makes sense), then to my utter amazement he got a third tooth the next day (or same day as the second but I noticed it on the next day). This one is to the left of the bottom two. I thought they were supposed to get two center bottom ones, then the two top center ones. But Roc seems to have decided on his own order. I keep checking for more, but don't see any yet. Ella got her first two at 5 mths, then did not get anymore till 9 months, so I was really surprised to see Roc's third already. Hey though, the more they get at one time, the less pain they go through, so I am all for that!

Also he has started to get up on all fours and rock back and forth, crawling may wake be on the way soon.

Now I just got another surprise, Ella just showed up in the office. I heard her wake up a few minutes ago and was going to go get her when I was done with this post and now here she is. She has just started to open doors on her own within the last few days. Not sure if I am too glad about this new feat but oh well as long as she stays in bed all night, I guess it will be ok....
