Long Weekend Part 2

Sunday we did not do much, Kevin did a lot of yard work and I worked down at my mom's doing her catering bills for the week. Usually Kevin watches Roc while I do this and Ella comes with me, but since Kevin was working on the yard I took them both. Roc did surprisingly well playing in the kitchen and then my Dad watched him for a bit too. I missed a photo blog moment with Ella and my mom. My mom was working on catering stuff and Ella was helping her. She helped her put peppers through the Cuisinart and then helped get the cookies on the cookie sheet. It was quite cute and I was bummed I did not have my camera. Yesterday Ella and I watched Emmett for about 1.5 hours to give Hannah and Brent a slight break-so they could get more moving done. I thought I would have him for a bit longer but that's ok we had fun while it lasted. In the afternoon I met my mom at Starbucks with Ella and Roc while Kevin did some more yard work. Then we decided to BBQ hamburgers. We got some patio furniture this year and I love it. I love being able to sit out on our patio and eat. Then Kevin and the kiddos got in the pool. It was a bit cold but we made the water warm and Roc loved it. Ella was not as into it and mostly played around the pool-and pretended that she was a birdie. This video is not that great as I was facing the wrong way with the sun but it is still cute.

Long Weekend Part 1

Hannah and Brent moved into their new house this weekend, so while the men were moving Roc, Ella and I hung out at my parent's with Abby and her girls. The girls always have fun especially when they can go running and screaming-more like high pitched squealing-through the house. Then later that afternoon We, along with the Hoefer clan and my mom took a short walk on the greenway. We walked from the old Marty's restaurant to the wooden play structure by the Yakima River. It is the perfect distance for the little ones to go on their bikes. They had a blast playing on the toys. Roc especially loved the slide, he is such a brave boy.

Important Reminder

As most of you have probably heard Steven Curtis Chapman and family lost their youngest daughter/sister, yesterday. You can read more about the story here and there is a memorial blog setup here. In the event of this it is just another reminder to ALWAYS watch and look out for children while you are driving. You can never be too cautious.

Per Abby's Request

Ok this is really Abby's post, but since her camera does not have a video she asked me to do this. She really wants to have a video of each of her girls on her blog, so she is doing it via mine. So here they are Abby, hope you enjoy them.

Craft Day

We had another fun craft day up at Abby's today. Today Emmett even joined us. The crafts were painting a stain glass thing, making a magnet caterpillar, and a foam door hanger. Roc had fun playing with all the toys while the girls worked on the crafts.

Bubbles

Yesterday we played bubbles outside of a little while. Ella does a good job of blowing them and Roc had fun watching her and trying to catch them.

Summer Fun

Yesterday we went to Sadie's and played in her pool, sandbox and on the new swing set. I did not bring the kiddos suits so they went in their clothes but they seemed to enjoy it anyways. Today Emmett came over for swimming and a scrumptious lunch of mango, mac n cheese, hot dogs, and all fruit Popsicles- oh and don't forget the mystery flavor Doritos. I think they taste like they have lime and a hint of sugar. Has anyone out there tasted these? If so what do you think the flavor is. We had a nice time and the weather was perfect. The swimming suit I bought for Roc had a rip in it so he had to go in a onesie and shorts, but I did get it exchanged today, however the brown one I wanted was gone so we had to settle for blue. You will see him in this in our next swimming shots. Here are a few shots of the fun afternoon.

Deliciousness in the mail.

Our mailbox is way down at the bottom of the hill behind our house, so we don't always get the mail everyday. (We bought a locked mailbox for this very reason). So the other day I got the mail and there was a ton of it, I then realized it had been a while since we had gotten it. In it was a notification from the post office saying we had a package, from Starbucks, waiting for us at the main post office, as it would not fit in our box. They usually deliver these right to our door but for some reason they did not with this one. I called Kevin and asked him to pick it up on the way home from work. In it was a 1lb bag of coffee beans and a note saying they were sorry for any problems we experienced with our Starbucks Visa and the beans were a way of making up for any inconveniences. Well I don' t recall having any problems but hey I will take the coffee anyways!
Yum Yum!

You have to see it to believe it!!

My little almost 10 month old walked on his own for the first time today, for a short distance. Here he is. He was standing by my chair (of course I was not looking) and walked to Kevin's, so we had him to it again to capture this amazing moment.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was nice, we hung out at my parents house and all the siblings except Rachael and Michael were there. We had some good food and fun. The little girls are really into screaming and giggling, but at least they have fun together.

Ella picked out my gift and she got me a flower and some Starbucks truffles. The flower actually had two plants so yesterday I re-potted them into two pots. I am not much of a gardener so I hope I can keep them alive. Ella loves to pick me flowers. She couldn't resist picking my tulips and bringing them to me and now she will find wild flowers on our hill to bring me or other "flowers" from the hill. It really is sweet. She has also started calling me by a new name. Miss Mommy. I am not sure where she came up with that one! This adds to her lists of names for me. She will call me mama, mommy, mommy-o, mom, and now miss mommy. She calls her dad- dada, dad, daddy, and of course daddy-o, but she will also call him Kevin (which I find kinda funny).

Three Columns

Yeah, I have finally figured out this three column thing. I have been wanting one for a long time but blogger does not have it as a set template, then when I went to a blog from another friends blog and I saw that they had one so I knew it was possible. She led me in the right direction and now I am figured it out!! Now I just need to play around with the size a bit. Who would know I could do something so technical. Also there is now something on my blog about rating the post, I am not sure how this showed up but please rate me!

Ella Girl

I got a mini pool a few weekends ago so the other day I put a bit of water in it and Ella "swam" for a few minutes, Roc was a bit crabby and would not go in at all but I think if I try it when he is in a good mood he will enjoy it. The hose was hooked up to the irrigation water so we couldn't use it and had to put the water in pitcher full at a time so we only filled it part way. Ella even helped me by filling the pitcher from the bath and bringing it out. Now we have the hose hooked to the house water so we will be able to fill it more.

Ella loves to help daddy (as mentioned in a previous post) so last night she "helped" him work on his truck battery.

Happenings

I am happy to report that Ella is back to her happy go lucky self and is doing much better. Saturday was just a rest up day and today she seemed to be back to her normal self, which is a huge relief to me.

This weekend we finally got Roc out of his infant car seat, I know this seems late but he just did not seem to be growing out of it, but I thought it was time to put him in a bigger one, it just seemed safer. We originally bought a regular car seat (one that is for 5-100 lbs) for him before he was born, but then decided to use an infant one instead (reason being Hannah has the same regular one we have and when they put Emmett in it when he was first born it was just too big for a infant, even though it said it would work for a small baby), so his regular car seat was in the truck so Kevin could take Ella places. So we went to get a booster seat for Ella for the truck this weekend and I found a good one at Target. This morning I told Ella that she would get to ride in her new booster seat and she asked "Did we buy it at Starbucks?" Hmmm maybe we have been going there too much???

This week I also finally put Roc's Radio Flyer ride-on together (which he got for Christmas). For some reason I was thinking he was not old enough, I have no idea why. I happened to be putting it together in his room and he kept getting into the pieces so I put him in the crib to play. He actually had a great time bouncing around. Then he decided it would be fun to stand up and throw his socks at me, so I threw them back. It was a little game till he decided it would be more fun to just eat them:)

Getting Better?

We took Ella to the dr. yesterday and he seems to think it is just the viral thing that is going around and should only last a few more days, but told us to come back on Tuesday if she is not better. She seemed a bit better yesterday afternoon and did come out of my room to declare she could walk again (this was late afternoon), but this morning she threw up again! She seems ok and has kept her milk down today but has not really had much of an appetite, she is not even going for fruit snacks, which she will normally eat no matter what. She is still pretty weak and tired and now is telling me she can't walk and her stomach hurts. Poor little girl.

She also said to me yesterday, "Mom babies grow in our stomachs and then they come out, Mom I have a tiny little baby in my stomach and it is ready to come out."
