Thanks to Auntie Rach!

So it all started last Christmas, when Rachael (who drew our name) gave me a picture for Ella's room. I decided I really liked it and wanted to do it as the theme for her room. I found some wallpaper that went really well with the picture. The picture she gave us is one in a series of four, and I bought a second one a while back but have never seemed to find the other two. (they carry them at Target). Kevin painted her room purple and pink and then Hannah came over to help me hang the wallpaper. I ordered two rolls, which was plenty, but when the rolls met they were not the same size. Just slightly off but also slightly different colors and it was too noticeable to ignore. I special ordered it from Lowe's and they said they would replace it, but I had to take it off the wall and bring it back so they could send to the manufacture. I did this and got two new rolls, which they did not make me pay for and they also credited me my original purchase! But these two rolls did not match either and there was no way to get around having the rolls meet, so I did end up buying one more roll, but three for the price of one was a really good deal. ( if anyone needs wall paper Lowe's was very customer friendly and I recommend using them. They ship it for free (the stores I found online all had a fee to mail and process your order) so you don't have to go down to the store to pick it up) . So since I had all this extra wall paper and could not find the last two pictures, I decided to make my own. I am not a really crafty person so these picture took me a lot of time but I think they turned out ok and Ella seems to like them. I got 4 white shelves for a great deal at Shopko and painted them pink. I also got letters at Walmat (which they no longer carry, bummer cuz I wanted some for Roc) and painted those pink too. I also bought white frames at Shopko for my pictures. I finished making these pictures last week, so after all this the other day, what do I find at Target, the last two pictures. Yeah. I finally got all of them up this morning and now I just need to find one small thing for the small shelf. I am thinking a candle in the shape of a butterfly, dragonfly, lady bug or bee. If anyone sees a cute one let em know!. Know I just need to think of a theme for Roc's room....

I'm so happy to be mentioned on the famous stay-at-home blog! The room looks wonderful. You know, you could do Roc's room with manly buts as a contrast to Ella's. Use like bright green and a darker blue for paint, then find bug pictures of a cool looking beetle or something. It could turn out really neat, especially with your expertise!

I love Rachael's comment.....did she know she said manly buts instead of bugs? That made me laugh out loud thinking of Roc's room decorated in manly buts! :) Ella's room looks adorable!

So cute and girly! It never fails that to get what you want it takes a little work! Paid off though. :) I remember those letters at Walmart. Michael's has some nice big white ones for only 2.99 each. They are a different style/font than Walmart's, but a good deal compared to Craft Warehouse (almost ten bucks each) and they're already painted.

I love it!! I can't even tell which ones you made and which ones you bought. The whole room is adorable!!

And I think manly buts all over Roc's room would look great too...maybe Rach has some ideas of where we could get some pictures of them?

LOVE the pink and purple together! What a cute 'girlie' room for Ella! ...I'm not voting for the 'manly buts' theme for Roc...now BUGS, go for it!
