On New Years Day we decided to take the kiddos up to feed the elks, or camels as Ella called them. Just a short drive on Highway 12 past Naches there is a Elk Feeding Station and another short trail you can walk up to see more elk. Plus on the other side of the highway there is a big horned sheep feeding station. We got there around 10 and were pretty much the only ones there. Then we noticed a sign that said the feeding was at 1:30. So we looked at the elk that were there for a while and then drove to the other spot and walked up the trail to look at them there for a while and then drove to look at the sheep. We decided that since we made the drive we might as well wait around till the feeding started. So to kill some more time we ate lunch in Naches and then drove back to the feeding station. It was really crowded. I was a bit surprised to see so many people there. Also there is a truck that will take you out into the middle of the elk to watch the feeding closer. You have to sign up for this and so I am thinking of taking my Grandma up one day during the week and doing this. It will hopefully be less crowded and then hopefully we can take the ride out into the filed. I think Ella would like this as she really had fun. The following pictures are at the elk station, the sheep station, and hanging out in the car to look at the sheep as it was much warmer. Kev put Roc on the steering wheel to drive, so of course Ella had to take a turn and a video of Ella calling for the Elk to come closer.
