Ok-my second post of the day----wow. Poor Ella has not been doing too well. Last Saturday she came down with an ear infection-first one ever-. The on call doc put her on amoxicillin, but this little girl refused to take it. So after throwing it up I said forget it. Which was probably not the best choice (lesson learned). She seemed to be doing better thought but then last Tuesday she has a horrid fever (103 ish) and both ears were infected. My dad said get her the medicine-so we tried to disguise it in a milkshake, but no fooling this girl. She did not see us put it in but would not drink it as it tasted yucky. So we finally managed to get it down her-no easy task with this one, and you have to give them 20 doses over 10 days-not fun. Once we got some Advil and amoxicillin in her she seemed to do better and slept all night, but her fever kept coming back in the evenings. Thank goodness for children's Advil though. Then a few days later she was fine, but on Sunday she started to get a horrid rash that rapidly spread through out her whole body-So off to the doctor we headed on Monday. He assured me it was not contagious (whew!) (I was imagining calling ballet and Church to tell everyone she exposed them to some horrid disease :)) He took her off the amoxicillin saying it was a strep rash-I think a combo of the ear infection and reaction to the medicine? He put her on a different antibiotic and told me to bathe her in Aveeno bath stuff. This seemed to work and she has no rash but last night her ears were bothering her again. Since we were headed to the ear doctor for Roc today I figured he could check her ears too. He said she has lots of fluid and to give her dimeatap and that should clear it up. Roc on the other had has tons of fluid and defiantly needs tubes. He said he is probably not very comfortable and hears us in muffled sounds. I think his hearing seems ok as he can follow commands but he does not say much so maybe the doctor is right....We can't get in till the 30th but I am really really hoping this helps improve his mood-and mine :)

Poor little kiddos! Hope they feel better soon.
Oh poor kids. That is just like Hailey was...tons of fluid...and she had to have speech so good thing you are getting it done now before he is older!! I will pray the kids feel better soon. (H&K were both allergic to penicillan and broke out in hives. Now they get a antibiotic that is only a 5 day dose and only once a day so ask for zithromax if you can next time. It is way better.)
Sorry to hear your kids have been sick. I hope they're on the mend...those can be some long days!!
